Nighttime Construction to Jam 5 Freeway

The freeway will be reduced to one lane in both directions as part of Caltrans' Ocean View Rehab Project .

Construction on Interstate 5 just south of San Clemente will bottle up the freeway across Camp Pendleton at night starting Monday and continuing all next week, Caltrans officials in San Diego said.

Crews working on the Ocean View Rehab Project will leave only one lane open in both directions across most of Camp Pendleton as they replace pieces of concrete pavement and modify the shoulders.

Most lanes will be closed at 7 p.m. nightly Monday through Thursday and reopen by 5 a.m. the next mornings. On Friday night they will be closed from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday
